Manila, Philippines - May 7, 2009. Digital Media Exchange's (DME) publishing division mobiusgames and Softnyx announced today the deployment of WolfTeam platoons into online communities, internet cafés and gaming computers across the country!

 

WolfTeam is a free to play, action-packed, First Person Shooter (FPS) that features strategic combat and weapons systems involving human soldiers and wolf-human hybrids. Players may choose to play as humans with access to high-tech weapons and team-coordination or as transformed wolf-humans that can rip their enemy apart. Wolf Team represents the 3rd MMOG partnership between mobiusgames and Softnyx following Rakion and Gunbound. Gunbound, published in 2004, remains one of the most popular online games in the history of the Philippine gaming industry. It was the first ever free to play game released in the Philippines, acquiring several million registered users and exceeding 30,000 CCU at peak. Rakion was published in 2006 and is a very popular Action game, featuring aggressive, third person, player versus player combat and a continual flow of new content upgrades.

"The story line is very interesting and unique among FPS games in the region. Instead of the typical, soldier-combat shooting games, this blends science fiction, genetic alteration and standard combat into a very compelling game," explained Eric Roceles, the Marketing Director for mobiusgames.

The year is 2013! While decoding the human DNA, scientists found a strand of DNA very similar to that found in wolves. A pharmaceutical corporation called Phyan develops a vaccine called "Epocine" to treat this genetic disorder, known as "Die Wolf Syndrome." But while producing Epocine, Phyan secretly develops "Anti-Epocine" which enhances the wolf gene and supplies it to the French army.

The French Army, creates a special division of mercenaries called the "WolfTeam" which is given free reign to destroy targets and objectives without fear of retribution. Over time the WolfTeam grows stronger, more violent and they run out of control. They disobey orders and annihilate everything while completing an assignment. The pack evolves to where the only chain of command is within their ranks; The Alpha Leader is the only one in command. Teams from the government, corporation and the army are sent to investigate and bring them under control; all are slaughtered. The WolfTeam now lives in the Underworld, hired mercenaries, always on the run from the French Army.
