Open-world PvP, consensual duels, guilds vs. guilds and battlegrounds - TERA allows you to fight other players in different ways. But one of the PvP features battleground won't be opened at launch, En Masse just confirmed to its community.
Battlegrounds are instanced combat areas where you can find your opponents and start the competition fast and they feature "tactical area-of-effect abilities controlled by one team member, environmental damage through player-triggered traps, spawned monsters to distract you from your opponents, or changing map layouts that keep things fresh."
You have to wait for a while before you can step into the battlegrounds. The publisher are further polishing this feature to meet their standard, rooting out exploits, and maximizing fun factor. As a post-launch feature, battleground is expected to release late this summer.
TERA will launch in North America on May 1 and in Europe on May 3.
