At the GamesCom currently being hosted in Cologne, Frogster has been awarded the contract for the worldwide rights to a new MMORPG project of Runewaker, the developer of Aion. The planned online role-playing game of the next generation is aimed to set new standards in design, technology, features and sheer dimension. At the moment, the new title is in the middle of its conceptual phase. Developer and publisher schedule the launch of the new online game world for the end of 2013. Details of the joint project will be published by the partners at a later date.
Aion - Teaser of New Adventure
After the big success of Aion, Runewaker has by now increased their team to over 100 staff. An extra 100 members of staff are to attend to the development of the new MMORPG project. Just as with Aion, developer and publisher are again planning a close collaboration regarding the production of the new online game world. Parallel to the development of the new MMORPG project, Runewaker will continue to work on regular expansions for Aion which has been able to win large recognition with over 1.6 million registered and over 300,000 active users already a few months after its official launch as well as with downright positive feedback from the press.
"Because of the very positive and successful collaboration in publishing, producing and game design for Aion, we have agreed upon an intensified cooperation for our new MMORPG project with Frogster already in this early stage. We can't really reveal much about our new online role-playing world now, but it will surpass current game worlds in many aspects", commented John and Tony Tang of Runewaker Entertainment on the signing of the contract.
